🌸 The Mother’s Day Scam Exploding Right Now — Don’t Fall For This

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, but don’t let the last-minute bouquet rush lead you into a trap.

The Better Business Bureau just issued an urgent warning that scammers are creating ads and websites advertising flower delivery services that result in damaged and/or late flowers, or ones that look nothing like their advertisements.

“In other scams, your flowers are never delivered, and the online florist shop becomes unreachable,” the BBB says. “Other consumers have reported that after paying, they are contacted by the florist shop and forced to upgrade their purchase, paying extra for something they don’t want. Some even report that their card is still charged even after the initial purchase.”

The bottom line: an ad isn’t trustworthy just because it’s on Google.

How to protect yourself:

1. You can check to see if a florist is accredited on the BBB’s website – BBB.org.

2. Legitimate businesses advertise an in-person location.

3. Review photos carefully – scammers are using AI to create fake ads that resemble those of trusted brands and retailers, the FBI warns.

4. Use secure payment methods like credit cards.
